The
Goa state Pollution Control Board constituted on 1-7-88 by the State
Government under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution)
Act,
1974, is the competent body entrusted with the functions relevant
to control of water and air pollution. The specific objective of
the Board is to maintain quality of water and air within the State.
In pursuance to these functions the Pollution Control Board scrutinizes
every industrial proposal within the State, from the point of view
of minimizing Environmental pollution due to liquid effluent, solid
waste or gaseous emissions
