MINARS (Monitoring of Indian National Aquatic Resources)

Goa State Pollution Control Board has undertaken this project through Central Pollution Control Board, New Delhi.


Under this project, the Board monitors the water quality of the following rivers. 

(1)   Mandovi at Panaji
(2)   Tonca-Marcela
(3)   Zuari at Cortalim
(4)   Zuari at Panchwadi
(5)   Khandepar at OPA, Ponda
(6)   Madei at Dabos, Valpoi
(7)   Valvanti at Sanquelim
(8)   Assanora at Assanora
(9)   Kalna at Chandel, Pernem
(10) Talpona at Canacona
(11) Salaulim Dam at Salaulim, Sanguem
(12) Creek at Dando Mollo Velsao, Mormugao
(13) Cumbarjua Canal, Corlim (Discharge point of Syngenta Ltd.)
(14) Mayem Lake, Bicholim
(15) River Khandepar at Codli near bridge, u/s Opa water works, Sanguem
(16) River Sal, Pazorkhoni, Cuncolim (near culvert,Margao-Canacona National Highway)
(17) River Kushawati near bundh at Kevona, Rivona,Sanguem
(18) River Sal near Hotel Leela, Mobor, Cavelossim
(19) River Mapusa on culvert on Mapusa-Panaji Highway
(20) River Chapora near Alorna Fort, Pernem
(21) River Bicholim, Barazan Nagar, Bicholim
(22) Agricultural Canal u/s of Cuncolim Industrial Estate (1Km from M/s Nicomet
        Industries Ltd.)
(23) Agricultural Canal d/s of Cuncolim Industrial Estate (near railwaybridge)
(24) Verna Industrial Estate (well of M/s Cipla Ltd.)
(25) Sancoale Industrial Estate (well)
(26) M/s Zuari Industries Ltd., Zuari nagar (well)
(27) Kundaim Industrial Estate (well of M/s Cadilla Health Care Ltd.)
(28) Corlim Industrial Estate (well)
(29) Pilerne Industrial Estate (well of M/s Unichem)

Samples from all these rivers are analyzed during the year.
